9 September 2026, Medan — Chief Ministers and Governors from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand convened in Medan, Indonesia, for the 23rd IMT-GT Chief Ministers’ and Governors’ Forum (CMGF).
The Forum reviewed the outcomes of the previous IMT-GT meetings, and discussed ways to strengthen state and provincial-level cooperation through ongoing projects, programmes, and new initiatives across the subregion.
The Forum also discussed the integration of the Green Council into the CMGF framework, progress on the IMT-GT Sustainable Urban Development Framework and the IMT-GT Green City Award.
The CMGF further explored relevant ASEAN cooperation initiatives and Asian Development Bank support for state and provincial-level development, while reaffirming the commitment to stronger subregional cooperation and sustainable, inclusive growth across IMT-GT.
